The Eglinton Crosstown LRT's construction phase extends into 2020. During this same interval, the Yonge Eglinton Growth Centre will undergo twenty substantial tower projects, with the expectation of a continuing longer larger development surge flowing ahead. Meanwhile, intensification projects will extend out along the Yonge and Eglinton main streets.
The prospect of years of construction disruptions – this state of temporary-permanence – deserves urban design attention not dissimilar to the consideration of immeubles regarding streetscapes and sidewalk footpaths.
