I like to believe...
My belief was confirmed today by the news that Freed Developments and CD Capital are going to relocate their 'hoarding' back from the sidewalk - respecting the all important Public Realm.
This footpath is the busiest off the high streets of Yonge and Eglinton. It accommodates the circulation of local residents and the to-and-fro of the two high schools: Northern and North Toronto Collegiate Institute. In addition this streetscape serves as a Street Park - and we look forward to its improvement so that in the future it will provide a substantial public realm offering for both the existing and emerging population.
Thank you Freed & Co.! your care and attention is much appreciated.
- development will reflexively improve our community's condition,
- that improving the public realm is a guiding star in every developer's bucket of ambitions
and though the road to fulfillment may
be a long one, nevertheless,
- the existing public realm should not be diminished, and where possible, be improved.
